What is Box of Cards?
A place for you to play custom card games with friends.
Are you affiliated with Cards Against Humanity?
No.
However, you can play Cards Against Humanity–style games here using original and community-created decks (no official Cards Against Humanity content is included).
Are Ai-Players controlled by fluffy hamsters in wheels?
No.
The hamsters are not fluffy but still cute.

How can I play Box of Cards?
There are several ways to play.

Is there a Lobby for public games?
No.
However you may find other players on Discord Server Box of Cards
How many players can play?
Up to 10 players per game. A game needs 3, but AI players fill the empty seats, so you can also play with 2 people or on your own.
The host adds AI players when creating the game. Everyone else joins with the invite link, no download needed.
Is Box of Cards for adults?
Some decks are. Rough decks are adult card game decks for players 18+ and only show up after you switch on "Rough decks (Age 18+)".
The other decks are milder. The host picks the decks, so the same game works for a party with friends or a game night with colleagues.
Can I make and print my own cards?
Yes. Log in, open Decks and write your own sentences and answers, or upload them as text files. Each sentence can have up to 3 blanks.
Print your deck as a PDF to play at home or as PNG images for a print shop, and use up to 3 decks in one online game.
Is there an app?
There's nothing to install. Box of Cards runs in the browser on phones, tablets and computers, and friends join with the invite link.
Fixes
Text looks blurry in Firefox
Type about:config in your firefox searchbar and proceed.
look for gfx.font_rendering.cleartype_params.rendering_mode
set it's value to 5 and refresh boxof.cards page
Security
Do you get access to my Discord Account?
No.
The minimum of your data is requested.
That data is used to know whom all those custom decks belong to.
Are game sessions secure?
Only friends you approved to your game have access to the data.
The server erases everything when the last player left or disconnected.
How anonymous am I?
The guest login is completely anonymous unless you use your real name.
Upon Discord login, your username and email address are provided.
Your username will be displayed to your fellow players.
No one will ever know your email address.
Account
How do I unsubscribe Emails?
Log in with Discord, open the Play page, select the Account tab, and change your email preferences there.
There will be an option there to toggle on and off.
Do you provide a way to remove ads?
No.
A minimum of ads are needed to pay the server bills.
They are added in the least annoying way.
You are free to use an Adblocker though.
There might add an optional paid option to remove ads someday.
How do I delete my Account?
Only Accounts created by Discord login are permanent.
Log in with Discord, open Play, then open the Account tab and use Delete Account.
Play
This does not affect your Discord Account in any way.
Trivia
Why did you create Box of Cards?
This was a learning project.
My goal was to allow players to invent whole stories.
This is possible by insertinc actor- and action-cards into story-cards.
There have been quite some hurdles on the way.
Someday it was already playable in different ways.
They will be added later on.
